Attorney: Kerry Bloodsaw

Facts: A complaint was initiated against AB for allegations that she was holding herself out as a physician. AB held a doctorate in nursing but not a medical degree. She referred to herself as “doctor” in certain marketing and advertising outlets which the board argued could confuse and mislead the public.

Outcome: After notice of complaint, BERTOLINO submitted a response to the allegations explaining why, how and when the term “doctor” was used. Further, a timeline of AB’s conduct was corrected and her doctorate was recognized by the Board. After further negotiations the Board agreed to dismiss the complaint and closed the investigation.
