Bertolino LLP is proud to announce our sponsorship for the 4th annual golf tournament to support the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 23-7. This event is scheduled for Friday, September 2, 2022, and will be held at Cowan Creek Golf Course in Georgetown, Texas. Arrivals start at 6:30 AM for registration and breakfast, with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. The entry fee of $95 per player covers your green fees, cart fee, and lunch, with proceeds for the tournament going to benefit Austin veterans.

Teams will use the four-person scramble format to speed up play and give a boost to less-frequent players.

The team at Bertolino LLP is committed to serving both our clients and community with the same level of care and quality. Supporting this event allows us to give back to those who have served our country and their families. The tournament is just one of our volunteer events, such as those with Austin Habitat for Humanity, the Texas Food Bank, the SAFE (Stop Abuse For Everyone) alliance, and the Bertolino Veterans’ Day 5K run.

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association – Austin, TX

Members of the CMVA Chapter 23-7 in Austin consist of veterans from all branches of the US Armed Forces who also enjoy riding motorcycles. They welcome those who have verified combat service, as well as those veterans who participated in non-combat roles.

There are CVMA chapters across the United States and in countries around the world. Many are retired, but others are still in active service, often in combat areas.

The CVMA offers veterans a way to combine their need to continue serving their country with their love for motorcycles while supporting local veterans needing assistance. By promoting interest in motorcycle events and riding, they draw attention to the continuing issues in the veteran community, such as PTSD and the plight of those who are still Prisoners of War (POWs) or Missing in Action (MIA).

Our Local CVMA Supports Austin-Based Charities that Help More than Just Veterans

Veterans understand the need to heal from trauma and the trials of combat, whether from war or difficult times in life. The Austin chapter of CVMA works with various groups and charities to support their work in the community as they serve veterans and others with PTSD or other anxiety concerns. These groups include Heroes Night Out, Healing with Horses Ranch & Therapeutic Riding Center, and Mrs. Allen’s Rescue Ranch.

  • Heroes Night Out schedules activities for veterans, first responders, and their families for fun and rehabilitation. They also provide on-site counseling and assistance for veterans who need help to claim benefits or get loans from the Veteran’s Administration.
  • Healing with Horses Ranch specializes in using horses to calm and rehabilitate veterans, those with disabilities, and at-risk young people. Their Unbridled Warriors program is designed to help veterans and current service members learn healthy coping mechanisms and communication skills to reintegrate after combat duty.
  • Mrs. Allen’s Rescue Ranch is a safe home for dogs and horses that have faced abuse or neglect. The ranch specializes in training service dogs for veterans, with financial support provided by Austin’s CVMA group, and its team works to rehabilitate the animals and provide beneficial interactions for veterans who visit.

CVMA Auxilliary Members Support the CVMA Goals

In addition to the main chapters comprised of veterans and active duty members, the CVMA Auxiliary group serves to support the functions of the CVMA by providing moral support and coordinating events such as the upcoming Austin golf tournament. The Auxiliary works with media to promote CVMA goals and boost understanding of veteran concerns and issues. Members are made up of spouses (current or widowed) of motorcycle association members.

The Auxiliary also administers a scholarship program to benefit members of the CVMA and Auxiliary groups, their spouses, children, and grandchildren. The group has awarded over $100,000 in grants in the past year to assist with books, tuition, and living expenses for recipients pursuing higher education.
