Commenting on media reports about the NFL bullying scandal, Texas attorney Tony R. Berolino of Bertolino LLP today said the national story has opened up a discussion about harassment men and women face every day in the workplace.

In measures taken to address a locker room story that dominated hours of time on ESPN and sports talk radio and even among commentators beyond the football world, the Miami Dolphins have fired offensive line coach Jim Turner and head athletic trainer Kevin O’Neill (“Dolphins Fire Offensive Line Coach and Trainer,” Houston Chronicle, February 19, 2014). Both men were released from the organization due to their roles in the bullying allegations brought forward by former Dolphins player Jonathan Martin, who claims that he left the sport due to the abusive hazing he faced (“Miami Dolphins’ Jonathan Martin: A Tormented Football Life,” Miami Herald, February 15, 2014).
